Sheila Newbery is a Berkeley, California-based freelance photographer. She is currently at work on a book-length documentary project entitled, 'The Life of Small Business: A Photographic Essay', an exploration of the diverse world of independent commerce in the Bay Area.

Her editorial portraiture has appeared in such diverse publications as Der Spiegel (Germany), Classical Music Magazine (UK), China Entrepreneur (China), Bits & Bytes (Portugal), Linux User Magazine (USA), and School Library Journal (USA). Her photography of classical musicians has appeared on CDs under the Bis, Pandore, and Magnatune labels.

Sheila lives in Berkeley, California with her husband, Silvio Levy, a mathematician, and son, Andrew.
